Assembly Bill (AB) 5 from 2019 by Assemblymember Lorena Gonzalez changed the classification of independent contractors to be considered employees. Essentially, making all workers considered employees unless proven otherwise. The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is holding a panel to understand the impacts to minorities in the state. The LA Chamber will be a panelist on the panel and is holding a focus group to have a better understanding of how AB 5 impacted small business, specifically women and minority owned businesses.
The LA Chamber is requesting your participation to obtain your expertise as a business owner and the impacts of AB 5.
The focus group will be held on June 2 from 4pm-5pm as a zoom meeting. Please accept this meeting invitation if you are available, feel free to share with others. We appreciate your participation.
