The Future Workplace is Fluid!
The gender revolution is happening right before our eyes and it’s changing the way we interact with people and the way employers support their employees. Come to this exciting discussion and learn the latest in language evolution such as gender neutral pronouns, when to use them, how to gauge people's identities when they do not present on the binary and much more.
By the end of this discussion you will understand:
- what transition means in the trans community and in the workplace,
- tips to minimize our dependence on binary work spaces,
- the laws that protect trans/gender non-conforming people such as Senate Bill 179 added a third gender option (“non-binary”) on state identification cards; Senate Bill 396 (known as the Transgender Work Opportunity Act) will make California the first in the nation to require training about gender identity, gender expression and sexual orientation; and Assembly Bill 1732, the nation’s most inclusive restroom access law, required businesses and governments to post non-gender-specific signs on single-occupant restrooms by March 1, 2017, and
- what you can do to create inclusive environments!
